Selling Three Meadows?

I browse real estate prices every six months or so in my area, just for fun, and I noticed that prices have skyrocketed in the four years since we purchased Three Meadows for $155,000. Now empty one-acre lots are selling for around $500,000, making this place theoretically worth up to $1.5 million. That's a lot of money!

I love this place, and have no interest whatsoever in selling. But, just for amusement, we called up a realtor this morning and listed the ranch for $1.6 million. I don't want to sell, but I guess I could be persuaded for enough money.

It won't really happen, of course, but it's fun to imagine wads of cash appearing from nowhere.

And cool places are so much cheaper outside California. Browsing the web, I noticed this 17,000 square foot mansion in Alabama for only $500K. Come on!

Of course, you'd have to live in Alabama instead of California.
