Making sodapop

My housemate and handyman, Dennis, has an abhorrence for all things corn syrup. He also loves sodapop. Since carbonated beverages nowadays are crammed with corn syrup, he makes his own.

He's got a big cannister of CO2, which he uses to pump water full of bubbles, making super cheap soda water . He buys flavor concentrates , mixes them with sugar water to make flavored syrup, and mixes the syrup with soda water to run his own soda fountain.

At first he stuck with conventional flavors, like Dr. Pepper or Black Cherry, but we started experimenting more and more. Our flavor palette now runs some 50 flavors, from Banana Cream Pie to Pistachio to Black Licorice to Boysenberry to Cotton Candy to... I don't know. Crazy stuff.

For the Spring Equinox Three Meadows Open House (March 19, 2-6 PM, you're invited), we'll have all these flavors available for making old-fashioned sodas, milkshakes, or elaborate alcoholic drinks. Mix your own!

We need to build a huge rack for all these flavor bottles.
