No Water
Our 66-year-old water main blew on Monday,
spraying an exciting geyser by our mailboxes. Rather than just patch this leak,
we decided to bite the bullet and replace the whole rusty line. So our water's
been off all week.
One of the
disadvantages of having a lovely 3 acre lot is that it's over an eighth of a
mile of pipe to lay to get from our house to the public water. That's a big
job, and it's taken hard work all week. Hard work with no showers afterward.
Trust me -- you don't want to smell us. Or see our
sink.
I've heard of people donating
blood to get the free brownie and orange juice. Today I donated blood so I
could take a poop without carrying a bucket of water from the pool to flush the
toilet.
With luck, we'll have water
tomorrow night.
