Bought Google

Google (GOOG) is exactly the sort of stock I stay away from: highly visible and outrageously overpriced.

I felt really stupid about not getting in on their IPO -- I loved the way they were doing it. It was the first IPO ever that was actually fair to the investors and good to the company -- and it screwed Wall Street bigtime, which is why they hated it so much.

Still, I love the company Google. They seem to actually be trying to make the world a better place; making money is a secondary consideration. I like that! So when their stock dropped 12% because of lackluster earnings, I figured that was as good a buy as I was going to get. I got a whopping 10 shares at $382.51. I don't expect to ever sell these shares -- unless Google starts trying to make money.
