Fahrenheit 451: **1/2 (and dystopias)

The 1966 movie of Ray Bradbury's dystopian tale of a fascist (but pleasant) book-burning society is interesting, but a bit too slow and talky for my tastes.

Rumor has it that Frank Darabont (director of The Shawshank Redemption, an outstanding film) is making a new one this year. I look forward to it.

My favorite dystopian books, in alphabetical order:

1984, by George Orwell
Animal Farm, by George Orwell
Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley
The Handmaid's Tale, by Margaret Atwood
It Can't Happen Here, by Sinclair Lewis
