The End of an Era
Delta Tao is discontinuing development of the 68k
version of Clan Lord.
The PowerPC
Macintosh line was introduced in 1994, superseding the 68K processor that had
been the basis of Macintosh since its introduction in 1984. The last 68K Macs,
the Color Classic II and the Quadra 950, were discontinued in late 1995. Clan
Lord, the Mac's first big online game, was introduced in 1998, but supported
vintage Macs, with new releases every two weeks ever since. Amazingly, there
are still a few customers using the 68K
version.
Alas, that time is at an end.
The last 68K release for Clan Lord will be Wednesday, July 5, 2006. For those
customers still running Clan Lord on a 68K Mac, Delta Tao has offered to
purchase a G3 iMac for them, free of charge, so they can continue.
