Wiiiiiiiiiiiii!

I waited in line for hours to buy a Nintendo Wii on Sunday. (The PS3 was about $200 beyond my price range, and didn't have any games that thrilled me.)

The graphics don't seem significantly different from a GameCube or PS2, but that's fine with me. I think focusing on awesomeness can detract attention to gameplay and fun -- and they're much more important.

It was pretty cool that the Wii has wifi built in, and automatically attached itself to the internet. There seems to be a lot of potential group stuff, but it doesn't look implemented yet.

The Wiimote is a radically different controller. Boxing with a controller in either hand, raising and jabbing with them to block and punch, was pretty fun.

The only game I got was Zelda. I'll probably stick to renting for other games -- after I get tired of Zelda.

Anybody else who gets a Wii: email me -- I want to experiment with Wii friends and the like.
