Death by Minutes
Pointless delays take time out of people's lives.
When added up among millions of people, you could think of these delays as
taking whole lives.
The extra hour of
airport security, for example, effectively kills almost 19 people per year in
Atlanta alone. (85 million man-hours
wasted.)
The commercials on a single
episode of American Idol kill 62 Americans. (Another 300 lives are wasted by
the rest of the show.)
Over 1000 lives
per year disappear because of traffic congestion in Los
Angles.
The 5-second anti-piracy
warning message that plays before every DVD senselessly costs over 700 people
per year. The benefits easily outweigh that, right?
