Death by Minutes

Pointless delays take time out of people's lives. When added up among millions of people, you could think of these delays as taking whole lives.

The extra hour of airport security, for example, effectively kills almost 19 people per year in Atlanta alone. (85 million man-hours wasted.)

The commercials on a single episode of American Idol kill 62 Americans. (Another 300 lives are wasted by the rest of the show.)

Over 1000 lives per year disappear because of traffic congestion in Los Angles.

The 5-second anti-piracy warning message that plays before every DVD senselessly costs over 700 people per year. The benefits easily outweigh that, right?
